    Undergraduate Researcher
Computational Condensed Matter Physics & AMO
    PI: Stephen Leone
Conducted computational analyses on the core-exciton structure and dynamics in solid state systems (NaCl, KCl, WS$_{2}$), and simulated the light-matter interaction by coupled extreme ultraviolet (XUV) and infrared (IR) pulse.
Identified four localized excitons in NaCl excited by the XUV-only pulse, and more delocalized excitons excited by the nonlinear XUV-IR coupled pulse; justified based on selection rules and correlations with experimental spectra.
Method: Density Functional Theory, GW approximation, Bethe-Salpeter Equation in BerkeleyGW and ELK Code.
